back at the arc, poor tommy was sobbing. he longed for petunia. all of a sudden, he saw 32 long tentacles come through the fog, with a large ship right behind them. Petunia, Margie and Jorge all became visible.

"Margie plans to buy this island," said Petunia. "Or the rights to flick a switch that will turn the colors in the world back on."

A mumble was heard throughout the small island.

"Switch turnin' the colors back on, eh?"

Tommy crawled over to Petunia. If he were human, he would have ran, but alas, most chirping lobsters that were once evil are not humans. Same with chipring lobsters that were never evil, but that's completely behind the point. WELL, to get back to this nonexistent point... He crawled over to her. His buggy eyes looked up at her lovingly. He tried blinking flirtaciously only to realize that he didn't really have controllable eyelids. The kind of blinked at their own will. She got what he was doing, and kissed his forehead

"I think I may love you," she said to him.

He jumped a bit, then smiled. His eyes started to well up, then replied.

"I thought I loved you too, dear. I've waited for quite some time for you to say the same to me as I've thought about you for... well... who knows how long? But the truth is, my heart had been broken into far too many pieces for me to ever love anyone again. Thank you though, I cannot return your love."

to be continueeeeeeeed.

She's quite beautiful Petunia thought.
"Ello there li'l missy," said Margaret. "Aw shucks, ya don't remember me, do you?"
Petunia stood there standing in awe, looking at her first best friend.
"Margie Marge of Margaretta?"
"Yes, yes. So glad you remember me."
"How could I forget you? And how did you manage to keep your color? In your gums, lips and eyes that is?"
"Comes from smilin'"
"Margie Marge of Margaretta, my shoes did not smile to get themselves blue."
"Those old things? Thought you woulda gotten rid of them by now."
Margie looked at the old shoes and chuckled to herself.
"I gave those to you when we were like thirteen years old. You saw them at a garage sale and i bought 'em for you. That's it! You know my eyes weren't always green, and my lips weren't always as pink as they are now. I bought these things. anything that I bought will have color. Oh snap! This is so excellent."
So she became very excited about her money making things colorful and did a jolly little moose dance through the trees on the boat.
"Margie, you do realize that means that you flicked a switch that made everything uncolorful, right?"
"Oh geez... I thought i was just turnin' off the lights. We should probably go... Jorge, to the head of the line!"
Jorge waddled to the front.
So the boat with the flying octopi took off and flew into a yellow mist.

do not fret... there is more to come.

"i'm supposing she won't be needing these then..." petunia uttered to herself, while picking up the clothes from around the bones and ashes left on the ground.

petunia muddled over to her raft, and sat upon it with her new clothes, and old shoes. looking down, she found a small piece of paper with a message scrawled on it.

"i love you dear, whether you are a lobster or not. i always will. you have all the qualities i've never wanted in a lobster (considering you are an obese woman, and not a small woman-lobster) yet i love you more than i'll ever love anyone. you make me happier than i've ever been. i hope this gets to you before you turn to foot deodorant powder. yours truly, tommy."

petunia started to cry. she realized what she had left behind, until she saw a huge ship headed in the direction of her raft. it wasn't the fact that she was about to get run over that made her gasp, it was the woman standing on the front of the boat. she had short choppy hair, and stains all over her dress. a strange odor came from the side of the boat on which she stood, but she turned toward petunia and smiled. her smile was absolutely gorgeous. straight teeth rested on those pure pink gums. the ship came closer, and her eyes were a perfect green. "come here, darling" she mouthed to petunia.

petunia swam to the anchor that had been thrown over the side of the boat. "i'm coming for you."

tommy climbed over to petunia. she wasn't gorgeous, and nobody was quite sure what the giant lobster saw in her. maybe it was that he couldn't see, or maybe he was one of the few that looked beyond what was seen. who would honestly want someone who sells fried toes to love them? petunia looked at him, with a scared look in her eye. she was scared to step on him, and he was scared she'd hurt him... not just physically by stepping on his gray back (it use to be red, but everything was now black and white if you happened to have forgotten).

"hello my dearest petunia."
"hello, tommy."
"i know this could be the death of me, but i would like to ask you to the seaweed ball tomorrow night at moses'."
"tommy, things wouldn't work between a lobster and a human."
"then take me to the seafood section at work. i am unhappy without you and wish you felt the same way."

petunia pulled the nearest tree apart and built a boat.
"I must be going now. thank you for this lovely day. i wouldn't kill you tommy. you mean too much to me."

petunia sailed away, waving to all the creatures in front of moses' seafood shack. she looked down at the ocean and started crying. she realized how she had hurt so many people, and she couldn't stop thinking of how awful of a person she truly was. the wind blew her knotted hair off of her face, and the sun shone brightly over her black eyes. what's the point in having a sun when there is no color? she thought. a strange hymn seemed to float along the water from the shore to her boat. she looked over to her right. the woman from the bakery sat on the side of the water, blue shoes in hand, carving pictures in the sand. petunia directed the boat toward the woman.

"hello ma'am."
"petunia! i wasn't expecting to see you along this island."
"same to you."
they sat and chatted for a bit. the tide was getting higher.
"ma'am, would you like some sunscreen? you may turn red."
"dear, i won't be turning any colors any time soon. and if i burn, so i burn."
"but ma'am, your skin is flaking."
the woman's skin was flaking very rapidly. layer by layer, her skin disappeared.
"what's happening to you?" asked petunia.
"there's a time in every woman's life when-"
"when what? come back!"
the woman was quickly becoming nothing but flesh and bones and organs. the clothes she was wearing had fallen off of her back and she was slowly melting. a few pastries fell out of her pocket, into the blue shoes. no more words were uttered from the woman's mouth.

il vais etre continuer...

tommy was very happy to see petunia doing things for the good of people (and eggs), and was not angry with her any more. he was in fact very happy. everything that once made him upset now made him happy, and everything that made him happy made him happier than he had ever been in his life. it may be a cross-species relationship, but he was willing to see if it could happen. but, what's the fun in a cross-species relationship? you couldn't relate, and claws would not be... safe. or comfortable for that matter. tommy's view on things had changed in just seconds, and in seconds again. he knew things would never work between him and petunia, and he would never want anybody else. he thought of suicide attempts, but realized that he couldn't drown himself, it wouldn't matter if he cut his wrists, and so he'd have to stay alive.

"MY GOD!" screamed Tommy the Evil Lobster.

"he didn't chirp?" said Frederick the baby lobster.

all of the people eating in moses' seafood shack gasped, and mumbled about how he was now a happy lobster, so he would no longer chirp. having an ounce more of happiness in him broke the chirping spell. but they were all wondering... what was he yelling about?

they all saw a tear come to his right eye.

she's a grocer... the one i love could kill me...

to be continued.
